Classy Living Society, in Partnership with Legacy for Change and CLS Cares presents the

7th Annual Red Dress Gala…

Exciting preliminary plans are underway for Classy Living Society’s much-anticipated 2020 Red Dress Gala coming up in October in Atlanta, Georgia!

The Red Dress Gala is our annual fundraising event in which over 300 exceptional women meet for an afternoon of celebration, generosity and philanthropy. This year marks the seventh consecutive year of this event and it will be hosted by our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Legacy for Change. Founded in 2018, Legacy for Change was established to benefit young girls, aged 9-14. (

This year’s theme is “If I Were a Girl”…I would…prepare for success, inspire self esteem, engage in community service, promote kindness, educate on environment awareness and live life authentically. The 7th Annual Gala will focus on all things education for girls, i.e. eco-friendly education, mentoring and empowerment, and other programs that enrich the lives of young girls. We will honor and spotlight nonprofit organizations that provide such education and award scholarships to three girls from each of the organizations.

The day will be filled with an upscale brunch, award presentations, lavish decor, special guests and more! As usual, we plan to present amazing live entertainment – music, comedy and more! You do not want to miss what is sure to be a powerful, inspirational and transformative event!

2019 Red Dress Gala Highlights

This year’s honoree for the coveted Classy Living Award will be Sock Out Poverty, a 501(c)(3) organization. We are asking all Red Dress Gala attendees to bring donations of socks for men, women, boys, and girls. These items will be presented to Sock Out Poverty to continue their mission to provide socks, clothing and other material goods to those who are in need or less fortunate. During the Gala, we will also have an exciting interactive “text-to-give” donation campaign to benefit Sock Out Poverty.

In addition, a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit CLS’s own 501(c)(3) entities: Legacy for Change and CLS Cares and are tax deductible.

Legacy for Change is a CLS 501(c)(3) whose mission is to inspire and develop a community of young girls, ages 9 to 14, to become successful by cultivating leadership skills through enrichment programs that promote innovation, community service involvement and volunteerism.
CLS Cares is a CLS 501(c)(3) which answers the clarion call to be active participants in safeguarding our plant and natural resources.  It is our “go green” initiative, launched to promote sustainability, conservation and preservation and supports our commitment to save our planet one step at a time, one person at a time.

The day will be filled with an upscale brunch, award presentations, lavish decor, special guests and more!

We also have a number of Houston’s unforgettable entertainers lined up:

musical performances by

Born and bred in Houston, Texas – introducing PRODIGY!

As a multi-faceted performer who refuses to be categorized as any “one type” of artist, Prodigy demonstrates his ability to infuse the essence, sound and feeling of old school music into his own unique melodies, current music and beyond. He has had the opportunity to work with such iconic artists as Stevie Wonder and has even caught the eye of local celebrities such as Mathew Knowles. As a Houston native, he has enjoyed the privilege of performing for Houston’s own Mayor Sylvester Turner! Speaking from the heart through his music, Prodigy is a performer with popular appeal; a delight to each audience he has the privilege to entertain.

“A voice well beyond her years” a quote written in the Forward Times newspaper in 2002 about the now 30-year-old R&B singer/songwriter, Jessica Forest. Born and raised in Houston, TX, she began singing at the tender age of three. Throughout her childhood, she performed in several talent shows and plays in the Houston area. Jessica was vocally trained at the age of 13 and was a member of several classical music choirs and quartets in high school. After graduating from Dillard University in 2011, Jessica decided to pursue music. She sang background for several local Houston artists and began honing her songwriting skills. Jessica is now pursuing music full time and has released an EP entitled “Anecdotes.” This emerging artist is sure to make waves in the music industry with her sultry tone and her ability to belt out notes that are reminiscent of 90’s ballads

hilarious comedy by Atlanta’s COMEDIAN LADY Q

LaQuitcha (La’Kēēsha) Lanay Washington, a native of Charleston, SC, has been making people laugh all her life. She was raised in a Christian home, and was taught the foundational doctrines of the Pentecostal Belief.

The Bible tells us to train a child in the way they shall go, and when they are old they will not depart from it. Well, the teachings LaQuitcha received were not in vain. After years of running from her true calling, she accepted the fact that God had both a purpose and a plan for her life that would glorify Him. Proverbs 17:22 tells us; “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.”

Lady Q answered “the call” and emerged as a true performer after accepting an invitation to perform a “One Woman Show” in 2008. Lady Q changes the atmosphere, by displaying the humor she recognizes in all people and situations.

Since that time, Lady Q has been awarded the PrazyeFactor People’s Choice Awards in 2014, and 2018 for Best Christian Comedian! She was an Honoree for the Community Service Award, given by the Gospel Choice Awards in July of 2019. Lady Q has opened for comedians such as, Rodney Perry, Marcus D. Wiley, Small Fry, and has performed with Bruce Bruce. Lady Q travels far and abroad to many venues, including Jamaica and the Bahamas to share her God-given talent to people of all ages, and backgrounds.

Lady Q is the mother of two young adults, Jasmine and Derrick, whom she adores, and supports her in her journey of making people laugh. Lady Q now resides in Atlanta, GA, where she is well-known and respected by her community. Lady Q is regarded as one of the most sought-after clean comedians today; and her goal is to travel the world, to make people laugh and restore their joy!
